Africa is not a safe place to live. In Africa, the water is highly polluted. There is oil, bacteria, plastic, human waste, and pesticides in the water. The water is really really bad because mining, fertilizers, pollution, fossil fuels, factory waste, and heavy metals are in the water too. The storm water runoff is also in the water. People have no choice but to drink this water. Little girls have to walk miles just to get this water for their family. Now think about how much clean water you waste that kids in Africa do not have.
There are many major environmental problems in Africa. The three major environmental problems are water pollution, deforestation, and desertification. Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies. This happens when industries and mines create chemical pollution. Deforestation is a destruction of forests to have more land. This happens when farmers need more land to grow crops. Desertification is when a land turns into a desert because of drought.
